Galen D. Dody

Galen Dody is the owner and lead planner of Generation Strategies and a Trustee of AgriLegacy. Galen grew up working the land on his own successful family farm in rural America. It wasn’t until he was a young man with a family of his own that he reached a fork in the road and left the family farm. With his financial acumen and deep understanding of the issues that can plague a family farm if not addressed, Galen strives to find the best solutions for your family to preserve your legacy.

Galen’s successes over the last 30 years include scores of awards and recognition in the financial industry, not to mention involvement and recognition in elite planning and financial groups. His passion is helping farmers get from where they are to where they want to be.

Galen is an active member of First Baptist Church and serves on numerous non-profit boards, and he enjoys hunting in his spare time. He and his wife Julie delight in spending time with their children and grandchildren in Clinton, Missouri.

Wes Hentges

Wes is the owner and lead financial advisor at Generation Strategies and a Trustee of AgriLegacy, striving to keep family farms in the farming family through comprehensive planning. He has also been a qualifying member of the MDRT* every year since 2007, as well as a Member Agent of the Nautilus Group®, a service of New York Life Insurance Company.

He holds a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Central Missouri and has been helping his clients discover, define, understand and solve eventualities impacting their financial independence and legacy planning for more than 10 years.

Wes enjoys spending time with family, going hunting, being involved in the community, and supporting local church activities. Wes, his wife Cindy, and their three children live in Tipton, Missouri.

Gary Myers

Gary Myers

Gary Myers, LUTCF, works out of the Wichita, Kansas office. His role within the company is to help his clients crystallize their objectives on a business and personal basis so that he can assist them in taking the next step. What makes Gary passionate about his work is the opportunity it provides to serve as the virtual CFO to busy business owners and other professionals.

Gary carries with him extensive expertise in the corporate world with both small and large companies. It is this experience that allows him to work with business owners and truly understand their needs and goals. Additionally, Gary’s knowledge of and passion for the industry has earned him Court of Table of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), Chairman’s Council status, and he has received the Agent of the Year Award 5 times. Working with Gary means working with a hardworking, compassionate, fun, and trustworthy team of advisors.

Garrett Harper

Garrett Harper works in the Lawrence, Kansas office and has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and brings a unique background to the financial business. Having an entrepreneurial heart he previously owned a successful small business that he sold in 2009 to pursue a personal goal to help others achieve their financial dreams. In 2010 he partnered with New York Life and as with his previous business, has worked hard to build a successful company built on referrals.

He is committed to helping provide individuals, families, and businesses with the appropriate products & services to help meet their financial needs. Being strictly referral based means that you as a customer are satisfied enough with your financial strategies to have other friends and families taken care of by Garrett and his team.

Garrett married Humbelina in 2002 and together they have four children. Joaquin, Sofia, Aurora, and Adelina.

Garrett's biggest hobby is his children. He is involved with his church and various community organizations.

Rich Rainforth

Rich Rainforth has been a New York Life Agent since 2000 and is associated with New York Life's Des Moines General Office in West Des Moines.

Rich has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table since 2007 (MDRT is recognized throughout the industry as the standard of excellence in life insurance sales performance). Rich has consistently earned New York Life Council status each full year since he started. Council status is based upon production in life insurance, annuity, long-term care insurance, and investment sales.

Rich has earned the designations of Certified Life Underwriter (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) awarded by the American College. These programs typically require an average of 400 hours of study and a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years. Rich is also certified in the Macro Asset Perspective, commonly referred to as the MAP. He is the only certified agent in Des Moines.

Rich is active in his community. His involvement with Amanda the Panda (a grief counseling and support group) was extended through a New York Life Foundation Community Impact Grant. These funds were used to renovate the Children's Garden - a courtyard area of their facility.

Rich was raised in SW Iowa, graduated from Iowa State University and has lived in Central Iowa since 1996. He has two daughters, Alexa and Mattea, who reside in the Chicago metro area.

Scott Schmailzl

Scott Schmailzl began his background in finance at Central College in Pella, Iowa where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a focus area in Finance in 2003.

Scott immediately entered the Insurance and Investment industry and began to build his practice as an agent for New York Life Insurance Company and Eagle Strategies, LLC, as a Financial Adviser.

Scott quickly achieved several prestigious designations within the Financial Services industry including that of a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and finally Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), which is perhaps the most advanced designation the industry offers. Each of these programs requires approximately 400 hours of study and a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years.

Scott also belongs to the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers as he has always believed that being as current as possible on the issues that surround the Financial Planning industry is the key to effectively serving the needs of his clients.

Scott was raised in SW Iowa and now resides in West Des Moines, Iowa with his wife Abby where they spend most of their free time with family, friends, and their yellow Lab Herbie.
